Experienced Security Guards Needed!
Inter-Con Security Systems is hiring *experienced Armed and Unarmed Security Officers* in San Mateo, CA. We are looking for dependable security professionals who can maintain a strong security presence while providing professional service in a fast-paced environment.
This position includes access control, screening, patrols, CCTV monitoring, and other facility security responsibilities.
What You'll Do: As a Security Officer, responsibilities include:
- Cover assigned security posts, including customer counters, employee and vehicle entrances, guard houses, gates, construction gates, parking areas, and perimeter locations
- Screen employees entering and exiting facilities, including personal baggage as required
- Verify identity badges and personnel clearance
- Screen vehicles entering or exiting assigned locations
- Verify vehicle seal controls, including cutting and applying seals when required
- Manage temporary badge processes
- Conduct roving patrols on foot and/or by vehicle
- Patrol perimeter fences, gates, buildings, warehouses, storage areas, and other assigned locations
- Identify and report fire hazards, unauthorized activity, malfunctioning utilities, and hazardous conditions
- Monitor CCTV systems
- Operate X-ray screening equipment
- Respond appropriately to security and emergency situations
- Complete required security reports and documentation
- Perform additional duties related to the security of the premises as required
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must:
- Be *21 years of age or older*
- Have a *High School Diploma or GED*
- Possess a current *California Security Guard Registration Card (Guard Card)*
- Have reliable transportation
- Meet all applicable licensing, registration, and certification requirements for the assigned position
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Be physically capable of performing assigned security duties
*Armed positions require applicable current California armed-security licensing and permits.*
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include:
- Standing or walking for an entire shift
- Conducting foot patrols
- Climbing stairs
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Running or responding quickly during emergency situations
