Intern Technician (Engineering Student) - Mexico
Technician - Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico Reporting to: Project Engineer, Project Managers, CAD Manager on a day-to-day basisAbout Role: We are looking for college interns to work within our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team as part of building design. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally. Candidates would need to work 15-30 hours per week. This is for current or soon to be graduating students in a related field.Responsibilities:Learning programs such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit Structure, and Faro SceneAssisting design in drawing production and preparing them for commercial building projectsReview project files for compliance with Standards/protocolsLearn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildingsAssisting engineers in research on commercial building projectsProduce accurate 2D drawings, 3D modelsHelping to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of technicianAble to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a teamQualities and Skills:Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM, Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) is a plus.Have a working knowledge of 1 of the following disciplines: Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or Civil.Interested in learning about other areas of the building industry beyond the discipline they know.Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.Excellent communications skills both written and verbalExcellent organizational skillsAble to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential informationSelf-motivated, hardworking, and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily tasks.Flexible attitudeDesirable: Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 or higher. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
