Medical Scribe
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our fantastic team! The Medical Scribe is responsible for accurately documenting patient information in a timely and efficient manner, supporting the medical staff in the provision of high-quality care. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in computer skills. We are a small office, and you will be trained to cover at front desk and optical as well.
Job summary: As a medical scribe, one would be expected to see patients with the provider and to type into the EHR the information that is discussed during the visits, assist with ordering and performing tests, medication refills, referrals, scheduling appointments and other tasks that expedite and improve patient care. This is a fast-paced clinic, and we enjoy teaching and collaborating with staff. In addition to scribing, you will be taught to perform ophthalmic assistant-type work including rooming patients, doing some testing, calling patients to clarify issues/questions, and/or relay test results. As you develop ophthalmic technical skills, you will see an increase in your pay.

Bachelor’s degree
Experience in health-related area (scribe experience or Medical Assistant experience) or ophthalmic technician/assistant experience a plus
Previous experience with electronic health record systems
Prior experience in a medical office
Basic medical terminology

Desired date of hire: ASAP
Sign on bonus: $500 sign on bonus at hire! This bonus will be paid in one lump sum on the next regular scheduled pay date . In the event that you leave Lyons Eye before 1 year from your date of hire, you will be responsible for reimbursing the company for this signing bonus and you hereby authorize the company to withhold $500 from your final pay.
