SENIOR ESTIMATOR / OPERATIONS MANAGER
THE OPPORTUNITY Jackson Hole is one of the most demanding and rewarding construction markets in the country. Westwood Curtis has built a reputation delivering heavy civil infrastructure in this environment, and we are looking for a senior leader who thrives in it. This is not a remote role or a hybrid arrangement. It is a hands-on leadership position in a place where the work matters and the setting is hard to beat. Many of our people live in Driggs, Idaho or Star Valley, Wyoming, where housing is more accessible while keeping you close to the work. You will own estimating and office operations, working alongside a Field Manager as a peer leader. Together you will drive the financial discipline, bid strategy, and project coordination that protect margins and fuel company growth. Estimating & Preconstruction •Lead all bid preparation using HeavyBid and HeavyJob •Develop competitive cost estimates for underground utility projects including water, sewer, and storm systems •Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and assess project risk •Own bid strategy, pricing decisions, and project handoff meetings Office Operations & Financial Discipline •Oversee daily office operations and project coordination •Manage project budgets, job cost tracking, and monthly Work in Progress reporting •Ensure billing accuracy and financial visibility across all active projects •Support capital equipment planning and purchasing decisions Field Partnership •Work directly with the Field Manager to align manpower, schedules, and execution •Participate in joint operational planning and provide cross-coverage during high-demand periods •Maintain clear, professional communication with shared accountability for company performance Client & Community Relations •Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, clients, and project partners •Represent Westwood Curtis professionally in public and client-facing settings •Bring composure and solutions-oriented thinking to high-pressure or conflict situations WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR •Proven estimating experience in heavy civil or underground utility construction •Strong working knowledge of HeavyBid and HeavyJob (preferred, not required) •Track record managing project budgets and Work in Progress reporting •Operational oversight experience with the ability to lead across both office and field functions •Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients, crews, and municipal partners •Comfortable working in a small, high-accountability team where your decisions have direct impact •Familiarity with the rhythms of mountain-market construction: seasonal planning, procurement lead times, and climate-driven scheduling COMPENSATION & LOCATION Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 based on experience Housing Allowance: Provided. Many team members base from Driggs, ID or Star Valley, WY for more accessible housing while remaining close to Jackson operations. Performance Incentive: Eligible based on company and individual performance. Location: This is an in-person role based out of Jackson, Wyoming.
