Process Technician
*Process Technician – Plastics Manufacturing*

*Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:45 PM – 12:15 AM*
*Pay: $33.00–$34.00/hour + $1.00/hour shift differential*
*Schedule: Full-Time*
*Position Summary*
· We are seeking an experienced Process Technician with a strong background in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, and/or extrusion blow molding to join a growing medical manufacturing operation in West Bend, WI.
· This position is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing molding processes to ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and consistently meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a Process Technician and be able to quickly troubleshoot molding processes, equipment, tooling, and product quality issues.

*Key Responsibilities*
_Process Setup & Production:_
* Set up, start, and optimize injection molding and/or extrusion blow molding equipment.
* Perform mold and tooling changes while minimizing production downtime.
* Establish and verify machine settings and process parameters.
* Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
* Perform machine startup and shutdown procedures according to established requirements.
* Document machine settings, process parameters, production data, and adjustments.
_Troubleshooting & Process Optimization:_
* Troubleshoot molding processes, tooling, equipment, and product quality issues.
* Identify root causes of production and processing problems and implement corrective actions.
* Make process adjustments to maintain product dimensions, appearance, quality, and production efficiency.
* Work with maintenance personnel when equipment repairs are required.
* Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, downtime, waste, and production inefficiencies.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
_Quality & Inspection:_
* Perform in-process quality inspections using tools such as:
* Calipers
* Gram scales
* Magna-Mike gauges
* Other precision measuring equipment
* Verify products meet established specifications and quality requirements.
* Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
* Follow all applicable GMP, GDP, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
_Equipment & Automation:_
The facility utilizes advanced plastics manufacturing equipment, including:
* Extrusion blow molding equipment
* Injection molding equipment
* Multi-head parison systems
* Automated downstream equipment
* APC/process control systems
* Six-axis robotics
* Automated pallet wrapping and banding systems
· Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, or vision inspection systems is highly valued.
_Team Support:_
* Work closely with operators, technicians, maintenance, quality, and production personnel.
* Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced team members.
* Support production during breaks, shift changes, and staffing needs.
* Communicate production or process concerns effectively to management.
* Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility for overtime when needed.
*Qualifications*
Required
* High school diploma or GED.
* 1–2+ years of Process Technician experience in plastics manufacturing.
* Hands-on experience with injection molding and/or extrusion blow molding.
* Strong understanding of plastics processing and molding principles.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with molds, tooling, processing equipment, and machine setup.
* Ability to read and understand work instructions, production documentation, and equipment manuals.
* Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software.
* Strong understanding of measurements, fractions, decimals, and basic mathematics.
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
*Preferred*
* Experience manufacturing medical devices or other regulated products.
* Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
* Experience with automated equipment, robotics, APC systems, or vision inspection.
* Technical school, vocational training, or related education.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
*Work Environment*
* Fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment.
* Production of medical devices and components.
* Cleanroom manufacturing environment with required gowning and PPE.
* Exposure to automated molding and production equipment.
* Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
* Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, perform repetitive movements, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay: $33.00 - $34.00 per hour
