Accounting Sage Payroll Specialist/Construction

Role Description: We are seeking a Sage Payroll Specialist or Accounting Manager with extensive experience in Sage Payroll within the Construction industry for a part-time role (32 hours per week). This position is tailored for a professional eager to leverage their payroll expertise, along with their skills in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and financial management, to contribute meaningfully to our operations. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management: Take charge of processing and managing the weekly payroll for our team, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Onsite presence is required on Mondays and Tuesdays. Accounts Receivable & Bookkeeping: Oversee A/R tasks, handle contract billing, and perform comprehensive bookkeeping duties. Financial Reporting & Budget Monitoring: Prepare detailed financial reports, monitor company budgets, and ensure adherence to accounting regulations. Special Projects & Process Improvement: Lead special initiatives, evaluate current accounting systems and processes, and implement innovative, efficient procedures where necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience and certifications 5 years minimum experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role Solid experience with Sage Products (100 Contractor, Sage Payroll & SFO) Process weekly payroll for 20 employees; experience with SimpleTime Payroll Proficient with A/R, bookkeeping, reconciliations, reading contracts, and contract billing Hands-on Construction accounting for inventory, expenses vs. liabilities, journal entries, auditing financial statements, managing large contract billing and credit card processing Familiarity with lien releases, workman's comp, monthly reporting & sales tax processes Filing quarterly & annual federal & state payroll tax returns MUST be extremely meticulous & have strong attention to detail and accuracy Knowledgeable about Unions and the different pay groups Nice-to-have: Sage reports “Pink” material transfer job costing – sales tax Ability to assist employees with the paperwork for the CA EDD Workshare Program Understands Insurance Breakdown – gen liability/umbrella/auto insurance Location & Benefits: Location: This role requires onsite work 4 days a week (Monday and Tuesday are mandatory) at our office on the Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area.
