This individual will monitor student progress, provide academic support, and collaborate with certified teachers to ensure each student is set up for success.Key Responsibilities:Meaningful Relationships:Build trusting, respectful relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff.Communicate regularly with students to offer encouragement, support, and accountability.Collaborate closely with certified staff to support student success.Engaged Learners:Provide academic support to students in completing online courses.Help students stay on task, manage time, and understand expectations for successful credit recovery.Serve as a reliable contact point for students both in person and by phone/email.Adaptive Pathways:Assist with assigning courses through Edgenuity and OdysseyWare under teacher direction.Monitor student progress weekly and adjust supports to ensure consistent improvement.Implement behavior management strategies in line with program expectations.Community Connections:Communicate student progress and concerns to parents/guardians.Encourage students to see the value of credit recovery as a stepping stone toward graduation and post-secondary success.Maintain accurate records and documentation for school and district reporting.Essential Duties:Provide academic support to students enrolled in online credit recovery courses, both in person and remotely.Assist certified online credit recovery teachers with daily instructional and administrative tasks.Monitor student progress on Edgenuity and OdysseyWare platforms; help assign courses under teacher direction.Support students in managing time, staying on task, and meeting expectations for course completion.Communicate regularly with students to offer encouragement, clarification, and accountability.Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student attendance, progress, and areas of concern.Track and document student attendance, course completion rates, and behavior data accurately.Assist in implementing behavior management strategies aligned with program goals.Be present and accessible to students during all designated program hours.Keep well-organized records of student performance for use in school and district reporting.Participate in daily sessions, staff meetings, and planning/review meetings as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned to support student success and program operations.Qualifications:Experience in a high school or credit recovery environment.Bilingual (preferred, not required).Comfortable using technology tools and learning platforms.Working Conditions:Walking or moving about in a classroom setting to provide individual instructionSitting for an estimated one hour and thirty minutes to provide concentrated individual or small group instructionTwisting upper torso and neck constantly when observing, supervising and monitoring studentsCapable of stooping/bending, squatting and kneeling when providing instructions to studentsLift and carry objects weighing 0-10 pounds constantly, 11-24 pounds occasionally and rarely 25-50 pounds. Pushing and pulling is required when assisting students in wheelchairs weighing 20 to 200 poundsMay need to assist students in self-help skills or attend to physical needs of studentsMust have the ability to reach, grasp and handle objects using the upper extremitiesMust possess higher than average reading, writing and mathematical skillsSpecialized staff should be capable of operating automobileSalary: Per CBA/Per DiemEmployment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
