*Mirth Connect Interface Developer * *Job Type:* Contract (3+ Months) *Work Location:* 100% Remote – United States *Schedule:* Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Central Time *Pay:* $40 - $100/hr Job Summary We are seeking an experienced *Mirth Connect Interface Developer* to support healthcare integration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with NextGen Mirth Connect, HL7 messaging, JavaScript, and healthcare interface development. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing healthcare interfaces, with a key responsibility of supporting migration to NextGen Connect. The developer will collaborate with an existing interface developer while independently managing development tasks, resolving integration issues, and documenting interface configurations and changes. Key Responsibilities * Develop, configure, maintain, and optimize healthcare interfaces using Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect. * Build and maintain HL7 interfaces connecting clinical, financial, operational, and third-party systems. * Use JavaScript for message transformation, filtering, routing, validation, and custom processing. * Support Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect migration activities, including interface configuration, testing, and validation. * Troubleshoot interface failures, message errors, data mapping issues, and connectivity problems. * Develop and support integrations using HL7, XML, JSON, REST APIs, SFTP, and database connectivity. * Troubleshoot Linux-based integration environments, including services, processes, logs, permissions, certificates, and networking. * Collaborate with technical teams, application owners, vendors, and operational stakeholders. * Maintain technical documentation covering interface configurations, transformations, dependencies, testing, and migration activities. * Ensure reliable, secure, and accurate healthcare data exchange. Required Qualifications * Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in healthcare integration, interface development, systems integration, or a related field. * Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect interfaces. * Practical experience with HL7 messaging and healthcare interoperability. * Proficiency in JavaScript for interface development and data transformation. * Experience troubleshooting production interfaces and resolving complex integration issues. * Familiarity with Linux server environments and system-level troubleshooting. * Experience with integration technologies such as XML, JSON, REST APIs, SFTP, and database connectivity. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. * Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications * Experience migrating or upgrading Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect environments. * Mirth Advanced/NextGen Connect certification. * Experience with EHR/EMR, laboratory, radiology, billing, or other healthcare information systems. * Experience with interface monitoring, message validation, testing, and production support. * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Environment * Fully remote position for candidates located within the United States. * Must be available to work 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday. * No regular weekend or holiday work is expected. * Initial contract duration of 3+ months.
