Thermal R&D Engineer

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop thermal management solutions for electronic and microelectronic systemsConduct analytical, numerical, and experimental heat transfer studiesDevelop, assemble, and validate custom thermal test setups and prototypesCharacterize thermal performance of components such as RF amplifiers, CPUs, and related devicesCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are scalable for manufacturingSupport product development from concept through testing and early-stage commercializationDocument test results, design iterations, and technical findingsRequired QualificationsBachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field5+ years of hands-on industry experience in thermal systems or related domainsStrong background in heat transfer (analytical, numerical, and experimental)Experience designing and fabricating custom test setupsExperience with electronic thermal management solutionsFamiliarity with RF and electronic devices, including Si and GaN-on-SiC technologiesExperience with electronic packaging processes (e.g., cleanroom fabrication, plating, soldering, reflow)Experience in design and/or manufacturing of thermal components such as heat sinks, cold plates, or two-phase cooling systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience with phase change heat transferProficiency in simulation tools such as COMSOL or ANSYSExperience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)Experience working in R&D or startup environmentsWork EnvironmentHybrid work environment initially, with increasing on-site collaboration as hardware development progressesHands-on lab and prototyping work requiredAdditional RequirementsMust be eligible to work in the United StatesAbility to obtain security clearance is a plus
