Senior Control Engineer

Title: Electrical & Controls Engineer (Industrial Operations)Location: Detroit, MISummary:Support cokemaking and heavy industrial operations by partnering with plant maintenance, operations, and IT teams to ensure safe, reliable electrical and control system performance. This role combines hands-on field support with engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport maintenance and reliability of electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and DCS systemsTroubleshoot and improve control systems, including PLCs and DCS platformsMaintain environmental compliance systems (CEMS/COMS)Coordinate power distribution during outages and infrastructure maintenanceSupport control system updates, cybersecurity efforts, and data historian functionalityCollaborate on equipment procurement, maintenance strategies, and capital projectsAssist with training and mentoring technical staffQualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience, orAS degree with 6+ years of relevant industrial experienceExperience in coke, chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments preferredAllen‑Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, SLC 500)DeltaV DCSBurner Management SystemsData historians (e.g., AVEVA PI) and CMMS (e.g., Maximo)Strong field troubleshooting and communication skillsWork EnvironmentCombination of field and office work in an industrial manufacturing settingRequires physical activity, PPE use, confined space entry, and height workCompensation: Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000–$140,000, plus an annual bonus of up to 15% and a 6% long‑term incentive plan (LTIP).
