No prior toolmaking experience? No problem. We provide hands-on training and mentorship from experienced toolmakers who will teach you the craft from the ground up.At Header Die & Tool, we build high-precision tooling that supports customers across demanding industries. Our entry-level toolmakers play a critical role in learning to design, fabricate, and repair precision tooling — safely, accurately, and on time — while developing the skills needed to grow within our level system.If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to work hard while learning something valuable, this is your opportunity.What You’ll DoDesign, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, and fixtures according to specificationsStudy blueprints to determine materials required and machines needed to manufacture carbide inserts and die assembliesCompute dimensions and determine die assembly methods and sequence of operations when not stated on routingSet up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, extrude hones, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, and reamer grindersPerform grinding and polishing of carbide components to ensure precision tolerances and proper surface finishesVerify dimensions using micrometers, dial indicators, comparators, and other measuring instrumentsInspect completed work using appropriate inspection methods based on part complexityTroubleshoot tooling issues and contribute to process improvementsMaintain clean machines and organized work areasFollow safety and quality standards — and help improve them when neededContribute to a clean, safe, and team-oriented work environmentAny/all duties as assignedWhat You BringMechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled tradeBasic math and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailReliable attendance and punctualityPositive attitude and coachabilityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to quality craftsmanshipWarehouse or industrial background is a plus, but not requiredWhy Header Die & ToolCompetitive pay: $18-$20 per hour, based on experienceFull-time | First shift | Monday–Friday | Consistent 50 hoursWeekly pay every FridayPTO begins accruing on your first day12 paid holidays, including your birthdayMonthly profit-sharing bonus401(k) with company matchHealth, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid short- and long-term disabilityCompany-paid life insurance + voluntary optionsFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance ProgramMonthly access to a professional/personal development coachFree snacks, coffee, and sodaRecognition programs including King of the Shop, WINS, and the annual Tom Derry AwardClean, air conditioned, and safe shop guided by our 27 FundamentalsHands-on training and mentorship from experienced toolmakersOur CultureHeader Die & Tool is a family-owned, fast-growing manufacturing leader known for precision, quality, and innovation.
