From assisting with housekeeping tasks to participating in fuel system cleaning and parts replacement, employees will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced leads, inspectors, and mechanics. This hands-on approach not only helps in developing essential skills but also provides a solid foundation for career growth within the maintenance industry.Essential DutiesAssists and participate in routine inspections and make modifications to natural gas engines and generators. Performs load testing on units to identify possible problems. Makes electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to control circuits. Tests batteries, fuel, coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis. Completes all assigned tasks directed by shop mechanics. Other related duties may also be performed; not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual holding this classification. Document work performed and report any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors. Collaborate with team members to achieve shop goals and objectives. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency. Assist with inventory management and parts replacement as needed. All other duties assigned.QualificationsEducationRequiredHigh School or GED ExperienceRequired1 year of previous relevant experience.Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.Certifications, Licenses & RegistrationsNoneKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of natural gas engine and generator systems, including inspection procedures and operational standards.Skill in performing load testing to diagnose performance issues and identify potential failures.Ability to modify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical wiring in control circuits.Knowledge of testing procedures for batteries, fuel, coolant, and oil, including proper handling and shipment of oil samples for analysis.Ability to accurately document maintenance and repair activities, noting abnormalities and reporting concerns to supervisors.Strong teamwork and communication skills to support shop objectives and coordinate with mechanics.Skill in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment to ensure operational efficiency.Ability to assist in inventory control, including tracking and replacing parts as needed.Flexibility to perform related duties as assigned, adapting to changing priorities and shop needs.Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.Culture ExpectationsAction-oriented: Self-motivated, problem solver, takes initiative when issues arise, acting quickly and responding accordingly.Disciplined: Focused, consistently following through with dedication to achieve high standards even when no one is watching.
