The team’s primary focus is driving visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI generative engines. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring collaboration with marketing, product, engineering, and strategy teams.The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with slide decks, spreadsheets, and large data sets, while also being able to clearly communicate complex SEO initiatives to non-SEO stakeholders.DescriptionIn this role, you will help build and execute the organization’s organic search and generative engine optimization roadmap while managing day-to-day SEO and GEO activities. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable strategies that improve search visibility, site performance, and technical optimization.ResponsibilitiesDrive and execute SEO strategy by defining detailed requirements, creating actionable engineering tickets, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and SEO project managers, and ensuring high-quality delivery of all initiativesBuild data-driven monthly and quarterly marketing reports by analyzing SEO performance metrics and identifying trends within complex data setsConduct recurring technical SEO audits to identify opportunities for optimization and communicate findings to engineering and product teamsSupport initiatives focused on improving page performance, crawl efficiency, structured data implementation, and organic discoverability across search platforms and AI-driven experiencesCollaborate cross-functionally to align SEO/GEO initiatives with broader business and marketing goalsMinimum Qualifications5–7 years of SEO experience supporting enterprise-level brands or large-scale websitesExperience improving page load times, optimizing crawl budget, and implementing schema markup and structured metadataProficiency with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, SEMRush, and Screaming FrogStrong analytical and data interpretation skills, including experience with Excel, Numbers, and data modelingFunctional knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, sitemaps, and structured dataPreferred QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail, including spelling, grammar, tone, and clarityAbility to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, team-oriented environmentUnderstanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies and how they differ from traditional SEO practicesCoding experience with languages such as Python or JavaScriptExperience with GEO-focused platforms and tools such as ProfoundAdditional Details12-month hybrid contractLocations: Cupertino, CA or Culver City, CAPay Rate: $70/hourEqual Opportunity StatementMathys+Potestio values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
