Maintenance Helper A

QualificationsTo assist in maintenance in servicing, refurbishing and maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds. To make periodic inspections of facility. Paint and clean facility as required. Versatile help and flexibility for the maintenance department HS Diploma Mechanically inclined. Ability to read and follow directions. Excellent safety and housekeeping practices. Flexible in assisting in all areas of the facility. Prior cleaning and painting skills. Materials generally lightweight to medium weight carried anywhere from 1 to 200 ft. Cart utilized for carrying most materials. Materials lifted floor level, waist level and overhead. Use of ladders, hoists, electrical carts and forklifts. (Includes primary job duties relating to hazardous waste management) Handles various cleaning agents and oils; minor spill clean-up; general housekeeping; may handle machine cutting coolant and waste oil; may handle various lubricating greases. 1- 2 years of specific and related experience. Ability to read and follow verbal directions. Excellent safety and housekeeping skills. Hazardous communication; minor spill clean-up; waste storage procedures; lockout/tagout for authorized employees; blood-borne pathogens program; confined spaces program; hot work permit; fire extinguisher training; CPR and First Aid. Ability to speak and listen effectively to follow instructions in English. Ability to write and speak complete sentences and understand verbal and written instructions in EnglishResponsibilities• Assists moving equipment, cleaning and dispose of items as directed. • Paint machinery, buildings as required. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must possess basic skills in maintenance. • Regular and punctual attendance. • Follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.
