Lead Fitter/Fabricator (1st Shift)

1st Shift Lead FabricatorShift: Mon-Fri (6am to 3:30pm)Pay: $27-32/hr.Description:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Fabricator to join our structural steel team. In this critical leadership role, you will work directly with the Shop Foreman and department leads to ensure production goals are met while maintaining top-tier safety and quality standards.This position is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced environments, takes pride in leading by example, and has a strong understanding of fabrication processes and team management.Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience successfully leading a steel fabrication teamStrong knowledge of structural steel, welding, layout, fabrication techniques, and CNC fabrication equipmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawingsFamiliarity with safety regulations, quality standards, and cost control practicesExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsWillingness to work overtime and Saturdays as neededCommitment to working in full compliance with company safety procedures and policiesKey Responsibilities:Supervise and support a team of fitters and welders to meet daily production targets and delivery schedulesCoordinate with the Shop Foreman, QC, and maintenance teams to keep workflow efficient and equipment fully operationalAssign daily tasks and workloads to maximize productivity and reduce downtimeProvide hands-on support and guidance for fabrication-related issues, including drawing interpretation, welding techniques, and safety best practicesMaintain open communication with leadership regarding deadlines, schedule changes, and team needsAssist with employee onboarding, training, performance reviews, timecard management, and disciplinary actionsWork collaboratively with the Quality Control department to ensure all work complies with AISC standardsPerform additional tasks as assigned to support the success of the fabrication shopBenefits:Health/dental/vision/disability insurancePaid time offPaid holidays401k with employer match and 100% vesting from the beginningPaid weeklyCompany Paid Life Insurance
