About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing, private equity-backed industrial manufacturing organization to identify a hands-on Credit & Collections Manager to lead a high-volume AR function during a critical period of transformation.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Rosemont, IL, with a hybrid schedule (local candidates preferred). The company is experiencing rapid growth through acquisitions and is investing heavily in strengthening its finance operations, systems, and processes.
Role Overview:
This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate in the details while driving structure, accountability, and results. You will oversee the full credit and collections function, manage a team, and bring consistency to a high-volume, transactional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end accounts receivable operations, including collections, cash application, and credit management
Oversee deductions and dispute resolution, including large customer accounts (Amazon, Grainger, Home Depot, etc.)
Manage new customer setup, credit risk assessment, and credit limit approvals
Supervise and drive the performance of a team (mix of full-time staff and temporary resources)
Own month-end close activities related to AR, including reconciliations and reserve entries
Provide clear, data-driven reporting to leadership on AR aging, KPIs, and expected outcomes
Establish and improve collections strategies, policies, and procedures
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes
Drive consistency and accountability in a high-volume environment (1,400 customers / 26K transactions)
Support and enhance AR systems and tools, including GetPaid (highly preferred)
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in credit and collections, with leadership experience
Strong background in high-volume, transactional AR environments
Hands-on experience with big box retailers / large customer accounts (Amazon, Grainger, Home Depot, etc.) is a must
Proven ability to manage disputes and deductions directly (not through automation only)
Experience with AR systems (GetPaid strongly preferred; HighRadius or similar acceptable)
Ability to provide clear reporting, forecasts, and performance metrics to leadership
Strong organizational skills with the ability to drive structure and accountability
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
