We're excited for you to come be part of our growing team!About The JobWe are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter with hands-on experience specializing in Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) and/or powder coating applications. This role is ideal for someone who brings 2-5 years of direct experience applying FBE or powder coatings in an industrial environment.This is a MUST‑HAVE requirement. Candidates must have proven experience Applying Fusion Bonded Epoxy and/or powder coating products (not wet paint only) using professional grade equipment.In this role, you'll be responsible for surface preparation, coating application, and finishing industrial components from start to finish. Your expertise in FBE and/or powder coating processes, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will play a critical role in maintaining our quality standards and continued success.Key ResponsibilitiesMix, apply, carry, and handle paints and specialty coatings using manual, spray, and airless spray methodsPrepare and apply Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) and/or powder coating using application equipmentOperate powder coating equipment, spray booths, spray guns, pressure pots, and related systemsPerform detailing, touch-ups, and final inspections to ensure proper coverage and finish qualityEnsure correct coating thickness (DFT) and adherence to specificationsComply with all safety, health, quality, and environmental requirementsRead and follow MSDS, manufacturer instructions, procedures, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)Identify, analyze, and control workplace hazardsParticipate in toolbox talks and safety meetingsWear required PPE, including respiratory protectionPerform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, crawling, and working in confined spacesAbout You - Required Experience & QualificationsFD Thomas believes Great People + Great Work = an Extraordinary Company. While a "can‑do" attitude matters, this position requires specific, hands-on technical experience.To be successful in this role, you must have the following:Must‑have Qualifications 2-5 years of hands-on experience applying Fuson Bonded Epoxy and/or powder coatings Experience working in an industrial paint or coating environment (shop or field)Technical ExperienceSurface Preparation: Sandblasting, grinding, sanding, cleaning, and masking surfacesPainting & Coating Techniques:- FBE and/or Powder coating application (required)- Airless and conventional spray techniques- Mixing and applying primers, sealers, and topcoatsCoating Knowledge: Epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-rich primers, and powder coatingsEquipment Operation: Paint booths, powder coating systems, spray guns, compressorsQuality Control: Even coverage, smooth finishes, correct DFT measurementSafety & Compliance: Proper PPE use and safe handling of hazardous materialsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to be fit-tested and medically cleared to wear a tight‑fitting respirator (OSHA)Ability to communicate and understand English for safety and operational purposesCompletion of OSHA 10‑Hour Construction TrainingAbility to perform physical work for extended periodsWillingness to perform other duties as business needs ariseTransferable Experience (plus, Not a Substitute)Auto body or marine paintingManufacturing or assembly line workConstruction or general labor backgroundsNote: Transferable experience is valuable but does not replace the required coating application experienceWHY FD THOMASWe thank you for taking the time to learn more about FD Thomas and this opportunity.
