Job Description SummaryWe are representing a well-established General Contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent with a proven track record on Division of State Architect (DSA) and Public Works projects throughout the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County markets.Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who understands the inspection-heavy, documentation-driven nature of DSA work, commands the respect of subcontractors and inspection teams, and knows how to keep a public sector jobsite moving in full compliance and on schedule.Projects typically include K–12 school new construction and modernization, community college facilities, municipal buildings, and other DSA-regulated or publicly bid construction.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & ExecutionManage all daily field operations from mobilization through final completionDevelop and maintain project schedules including 3-week look-aheads and milestone trackingCoordinate and sequence subcontractor trades to maintain workflow and avoid delaysEnforce plans, specifications, and DSA-approved documents in the fieldDSA Compliance & Inspection CoordinationServe as the primary field contact for the Inspector of Record (IOR) and DSA Field EngineersSchedule and coordinate all DSA inspections in alignment with construction sequencingMaintain daily field reports, inspection logs, and compliance documentationManage non-conformance items and coordinate corrective actions promptlySubcontractor & Safety ManagementHold trade partners accountable to schedule, scope, quality, and safety standardsLead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and daily tailgate safety talksEnforce Cal/OSHA compliance and project-specific safety plans at all timesCloseout & TurnoverDrive punch list completion and coordinate final inspections with IOR and agency representativesSupport DSA Form 6 closeout milestones and field documentation requirementsEnsure timely and complete facility turnover including all agency walk-throughs and sign-offsProject Experience RequiredDSA-Regulated K–12 School New Construction & ModernizationCommunity College / Higher Education FacilitiesMunicipal Buildings & Public InfrastructurePublicly Bid Projects with Prevailing Wage & DIR ComplianceProjects ranging from $10M – $80M+Qualifications8+ years of Superintendent xhyhwjd experience focused on DSA and Public WorksStrong knowledge of DSA inspection protocols, IOR coordination, and Form 6 closeoutFamiliarity with prevailing wage, DIR compliance, and public contracting requirementsProficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office SuiteOSHA 30 certified required; First Aid/CPR preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred; equivalent field experience strongly consideredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary commensurate with experiencePerformance-based bonus opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchCompany vehicle or vehicle allowance with gas cardPaid holidays and PTOLong-term growth within an active and expanding public sector builder
