This position is 100% in person. The overarching responsibility of each Summer Mentor is the support of the program and our students. This position involves tutoring, mentoring, and supporting instructional engagement. Summer Mentors are required to model and exhibit those behaviors expected of future healthcare and/or other professionals. Summer Mentors are also expected to adequately support the program through active and timely communication with the students and program administrators.General Position ResponsibilitiesMaintain a positive and fun attitude that students may followMaintain a positive working relationship with other staff membersDemonstrate effective problem-solving skills, even temper and growth mindsetFoster personal development for individual students and a sense of belonging/community for all.Demonstrate professionalism through preparedness, dress and communication with students and the rest of the teamProvide timely feedback to students on progressAssist with technology difficulties within technology platforms (Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Office)Leads specialized activities with students and other instructors as neededSpecific Duties/ ResponsibilitiesAttend and actively participate in training May 27 – May 30, 2025, 8:30 am – 5:00 pmWork weekly required hours, attends staff meetings, and evaluate process of the programPlan, organize, and lead innovative lesson plans and virtual activities for studentsAssist with daily check-ins and attendance during the program hoursGrade student work, and provide timely feedback to student reflectionsActively chaperone student movement (walking, riding on bus)Reliable transportation to School of Medicine and/or partner high school
