The Mom Project is thrilled to partner with our client, a leader in the video game and digital entertainment industry, in support of their Apprentice Pathway Program (APP)! APP is a workforce development program that provides apprenticeships to job seekers from nontraditional backgrounds. We are seeking a Software Engineering professional returning to the workforce after taking time off from their careers for caregiving. The apprenticeship program includes 6 months of paid employment, featuring hands-on work and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects.This role will be a part of a cohort and will begin in August 2026. This is a hybrid position out of the Aliso Viejo, CA office.Role OverviewAs a Software Developer in Test Apprentice, you will work with an experienced QA team that works on writing automation scripts for customer facing applications. You will be expected to follow instructions, learn new processes and implementation techniques, contribute to the automation codebase, and overall product life cycle to achieve high quality of the product delivered to our customers.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesCreate Test Cases and Execute them to ensure the quality of new featuresUnderstand Quality Engineering concepts and methodologiesPartners with developers to ensure test coverage and builds test plans that help deliver high quality featuresHelp Automate tests for applications on the PlayStation ecosystemAssist Sr. SDETs to set up test frameworks, and help teams set up automation infrastructureOn Board to existing automation framework to understandReport, track and verify defectsWork on web and mobile releasesReview Jenkins jobs for automation and find the causes of failures.Participate in all scrum ceremoniesReview and update QA documentationParticipate in milestone testingQualificationsExposure to writing scripts using Python or Node.js or any other programming languageExposure to a web-front-end technology such as JavaScript, HTML and CSSInterest in working as part of an agile, collaborative andcross-functional team that works on modern software design and developmentExposure to version control systems (preferably Git)Able to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHours and Location:Monday - Friday, 40 hours/weekCandidates must be based in the Aliso Viejo, CA area. Work will be preformed in a hybrid capacity with a mix of in office and WFH.Cohort will begin in August 2026
