Principal Deputy Chief of Legislative Liaison

Principal Deputy Chief Of Legislative Liaison Incumbent fully participates in executive level policy formulation, planning and direction for successful execution and accomplishment of the Office of the Chief of Legislative Liaison (OCLL) mission. Provides assistance and advice to the Secretary of the Army, the Chief of Staff of the Army, and the Army leadership on legislative aspects of Department of the Army (DA) policies, plans and programs. Fully shares responsibility for direct supervision and management oversight of all OCLL personnel and programs and serves as the Army's lead civilian legislative liaison with Members of Congress and Congressional Staff Members. Maintains continuing and extensive interface with other elements throughout DA, Department of Defense (DoD), other government agencies, private industry, and Congress. Prepares Army officials to testify before Congress, oversees the development and submission of Army legislative initiatives and develops and executes Congressional engagement plans for Army issues, initiatives, and programs. Assists in coordinating Army positions on pending legislation, submission of Congressional testimony, responding to Congressional inquiries, and requests for information. Principal advisor to the Chief of Legislative Liaison for all civilian personnel and budgetary resource matters in excess of $19 million.
