Reports to: Senior Research Team / CEO About Strategy Risks Strategy Risks is a China-focused business intelligence firm providing geopolitical, political, and strategic risk analysis to senior decision-makers across finance, corporates, and government. We help clients anticipate and navigate complex global risks through rigorous research, clear analysis, and actionable insight. The Role We are seeking a part-time researcher to support ongoing research projects and client-facing deliverables across geopolitical, political, and strategic risk themes. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical instincts, excellent writing skills, and a deep interest in China, global affairs, and emerging risk issues. The researcher will contribute to both recurring and project-based work, helping produce high-quality analysis for clients operating in complex environments. Key Responsibilities Conduct research across geopolitical, political, economic, and strategic risk topics Support drafting of reports, briefings, memos, and other client deliverables Assist with open-source analysis, background research, and source validation Contribute to recurring research products and ad hoc client requests Support preparation for client briefings, presentations, and research calls Monitor developments related to China, supply chains, regulation, and broader geopolitical trends Required Experience & Qualifications Experience in political risk, media, geopolitics, intelligence, academia, or strategic analysis Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to non-technical audiences Familiarity with China-related issues, global markets, or international affairs Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Chinese fluency a plus, but not required Python/PowerBI, Canva, CRM tools a plus, but not required What We Offer Flexible part-time arrangement Opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real-world strategic work Exposure to high-level client questions and global risk issues Collaborative work with an experienced and mission-driven team Compensation commensurate with experience and scope of work How to Apply Please submit a resume and brief note of interest outlining relevant experience and availability to Ashley@strategyrisks.com.
