Business Associate-MSW-Emergency Department - Part Time Nights

Patient Registration Clerk Provides clerical support for clinical and ancillary staff in delivering quality patient care. Creates In-Patient admissions as required. Discharges all patients verifying insurance and demographics.Responsibilities 1. Registers patients in a timely manner (within 10 minutes) collecting and updating demographic and insurance informationRegisters patients being admitted on computer systemPrepares appropriate identification band, lab requisition slips, labels and forms as neededBegins Central Log entry for all patients registered; Completes the central log assuring all fields are completeCompletes Medicare Payor Questionnaire for all Medicare patientsCollects visit fees and insurance co-paymentsApplies disposition and treatment code and discharge information in the Patient Registration logMakes appropriate copies of complete chart and stores in dedicated locationsDisburses chart once reviewed for completenessUpdates and maintains On-Call Board and logsCompletes and processes DER/DOA packetsLogs and prepares all telegrams/mailing for Operations ManagerCalls appropriate transportation and support services as requestedIssues clinic appointments as noted on the patient charts and reviews with patientGives patients their prescription and discharge portion of the chartGives attending physician walk out charts for review twice dailyQualifications High School Graduate or GED2 years of Ambulatory Care clerical experience or equivalentCollective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSWCompensation StatementThe Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $28.18 - $30.22 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
