We are one of the fastest-growing firearms brands in America, a two-time Aggie 100 honoree that has more than doubled its production rate in recent years, with operations in Bryan/College Station (BCS) and Shiner, TX.The RoleThe Process Engineer develops, standardizes, and improves manufacturing processes across the plant. You'll work with programming, machining, and quality to bring new parts online efficiently, increase throughput, reduce waste, and make sure improvements stick. This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.What You'll DoProcess Development & Launch• Develop and document manufacturing processes for new parts, including routings, work instructions, and standard work• Lead process prove-out and support a clean handoff from engineering to production• Design and improve fixtures and workholding in collaboration with CNC programming• Support capital equipment justification, installation, and runoffContinuous Improvement• Lead lean initiatives including 5S, kaizen events, and value stream mapping• Reduce cycle times, setup times (SMED), and process bottlenecks• Partner with quality on scrap and rework reduction and mistake-proofing (poka-yoke)Troubleshooting & Production Support• Troubleshoot day-to-day process, tooling, and equipment issues on the floor• Lead root cause analysis on recurring production problems and implement permanent fixesData & Standardization• Perform time studies, capacity analysis, and OEE tracking to target improvement efforts• Standardize best practices across machines, shifts, and operators• Maintain accurate process documentation and routings in the ERP systemWhat You BringTechnical• Strong understanding of CNC machining (milling and turning) and metal fabrication processes• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (5S, kaizen, VSM, SMED)• Solid blueprint reading and understanding of GD&T• CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar) for fixture and layout design• Data analysis skills for time studies, capacity planning, and OEEPractical• Floor-first mindset: improvement happens at the machine, not at the desk• Ability to lead change and build buy-in with machinists and operators• Bias for practical, sustainable solutions over complicated onesQualificationsRequired• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience• 3+ years of process or manufacturing engineering experience in a machining or fabrication environment• Demonstrated improvements in cycle time, setup time, or scrap reduction• Hands-on experience with fixturing, workholding, and process documentationPreferred• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher• CNC programming exposure (Mastercam or similar)• Capital equipment project experience• Exposure to automation or roboticsWhat Success Looks Like• New parts launch on time with capable, documented processes• Throughput improves without adding hours or headcount• Improvements stick because operators helped build them• Downtime, scrap, and setup times trend down over timeWork Environment• Manufacturing floor environment (PPE required)• Mix of office/desk work and hands-on shop floor time• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbsBenefits• Health Insurance• Vision Insurance• Dental Insurance• 401k• Paid Time Off• Profit Sharing• CounselingKaspar Outdoors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
