CAD Technician
CAD TechnicianThe CAD Technician is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings that support the design, standardization, and optimization of material handling environments. This includes developing accurate plan and elevation views of equipment, work areas, and material handling components used across large-scale fulfillment and warehouse operations.Key Responsibilities:Develop highly detailed CAD drawings based on existing designs, field conditions, and conceptual requirementsProduce both plan and elevation views with a high level of accuracy and consistencyCreate complete drawing sets to support standardization across multiple fulfillment sitesProvide design support for ongoing and future material handling initiativesCollaborate with engineers, operations partners, and project stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and alignmentRole Impact: This position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency and scalability by creating standardized, repeatable design documentation. High-quality drawings enable faster equipment deployment, reduce installation errors, and improve overall safety and productivity. Consistent layouts and clear documentation support long-term growth across a distributed operations network.Core Focus Areas:Documentation accuracyStandardization of designsContinuous improvement of processes and outputsMUST HAVES:Minimum 5 years operating experience in CAD with ability to work and manage layersMinimum of an Associate's Degree or higher in Drafting, Design, Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 1 year experience designing or documenting warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment facilitiesBasic knowledge of material handling and storage systemsProficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent)Understanding of mechanical layouts, clearances, and industrial safety considerationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneouslyJob Type & Location:This is a Contract position based out of North Reading, MA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $39.60/hr.
