Mission/Purpose of the JobResponsible for working with the Edwards key stakeholder to manage the planning and integration of key suppliers for strategic transfer products from global product companies to Hillsboro Oregon.This position will work within the supply chain department and broader organization to oversee the strategic sourcing of direct materials and indirect goods and services, including supplier negotiations and working upstream with product development to evaluate and select suppliers, provide make-versus-buy analyses and recommendations, define supply chain requirements and represent them on project teams.This position will be the point of contact for highly visible localization projects, new product introduction and some selective existing products undergoing design changes facilitating supply chain activities.Responsibility to continuously develop new/alternative suppliers within the region to meet proximity sourcing needs and to align local sourcing activities to Edwards global supply management, functional business and to corporate objectives.This role wil located at the Product Company in Hillsoboro Oregon.Interaction skills are importantly necessary with internal and external stakeholders such as internal customers, other PC’s procurement personnel and suppliers.Ensure sustainable and profitable growth, cost continuum at procured material level is essential and key to success of the role.Work structure consists of approximately 30% planning / 30% PO & supplier management / 20% administration / 10% projects & 10% other duties as assignedContributes to organizations business objectives of cost reductions, financial budgets, inventory management optimization, supplier OTD and other procurement financial metric.Main ResponsibilitiesBuilds strong relationships with suppliers to leverage their collective knowledge and abilities to further Edwards business objectives.Analyzes and secures quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.Analyzes and develops supply chain for ongoing improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and recommends, implements, and reports on improvement activity.Leads the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of suppliers and service providers through strategic sourcing, identification of capabilities, the creation of technical RFQ documents, proposal review and risk analysis.Builds strong relationships with suppliers to leverage their collective knowledge and abilities to further Edwards business objectives.Manage sourcing activity coordination and processes relating to new product development including leading or participating in supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness.Research potential sources of supply for purchased products to ensure prices are globally competitive and sufficient production capacity is available within the supply chain. Understand the market price or “Should Cost” price for key commodity items.Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a suppy chain, business or equivalent discipline prefered.4 years professional experience in procurement, business, supply chain or manufacturing.Demonstrated ability to drive positive outcomes with creative solutions to sourcing and supplier development.Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues.Strong attention to detail and analysis capabilities necessary along with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.Lean manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, problem solving and continual process improvement experienceWorking Experience with Microsoft Office – PowerPoint and Excel.Working knowledge of MRP (SAP a plus).Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Self-starter and effective time manager.
