Staff Accountant
Quest Group is actively recruiting for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 2–5 years of accounting experience to join our clients organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting principles and experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred, particularly exposure to job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, inventory accounting, and cost tracking.This position offers an opportunity to work closely with operations and management to support accurate financial reporting, inventory controls, and cost analysis in a dynamic manufacturing environmentRESPONSIBILITIESGeneral AccountingPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustmentsPerform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliationsAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesMaintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial recordsSupport preparation of financial statements and internal management reportsManufacturing & Cost Accounting SupportAssist with inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations and cycle count analysisMonitor and analyze work-in-progress (WIP) balances to ensure accurate project and production costingSupport job costing processes by reviewing labor, material, and overhead allocationsAnalyze production variances and assist in identifying cost-saving opportunitiesCollaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reportingAssist in maintaining standard costs and validating inventory valuationsFinancial Analysis & ReportingPrepare and analyze monthly financial reports and variance analysisInvestigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing cost and operational dataGenerate ad hoc reports and analyses for management as needed.Compliance & Internal ControlsEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controlsAssist with external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentationMaintain organized accounting records and documentationParticipate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting and reporting efficiencyREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required2–5 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.Experience with job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, inventory accounting, or cost accounting preferredExperience participating in month-end close processes and account reconciliations.Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysisExperience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Sage, or similar manufacturing systems preferred. Familiarity with inventory management and cost accounting concepts
