Job Title: Windows and Linux Systems EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Windows and Linux Systems Engineer to support research and development efforts at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, engineering, and administration of Windows and Linux computing systems hardware, software, and storage infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesDesign, integrate, and implement new Windows and Linux server systems, applications, and equipment to meet organizational needs and goals.Resolve Windows and Linux system issues and requests from teams or specific users promptly and accurately.Act as a subject-matter expert and provide technical support for Windows and Linux platform operating systems and applications across the organization.Architect systems infrastructure solutions to deliver business applications and content to customers at low latency and high throughput.Design, implement, and support Windows and Linux computing systems hardware and software infrastructure using service models such as on-premise and co-location data center facilities.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience in system administration.Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.Strong network troubleshooting skills.DoD Top Secret clearance.Security+ Certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with network configurations and architecture.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and in a small team environment.Experience in maintaining classified systems.Work EnvironmentThe position is onsite at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. The role involves close collaboration with direct NRL employees.
