Position: ControllerLocation: MUST live in West MichiganWorking Environment: Flexible w/ travelSalary: 120,000-130,000 + 10% bonusController Position OverviewA growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and lead core accounting operations. This individual will oversee financial reporting, audit, technical accounting, and team leadership, while also supporting forecasting, tax coordination, and key business initiatives.This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing technical accounting depth with leadership and strategic insight.Responsibilities for ControllerOwn and oversee the month-end close process and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) across a multi-entity structureReview journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and ensure accuracy and GAAP complianceServe as the technical accounting expert, including research and documentation for areas such as revenue recognition, leases, and inventory/COGSMaintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and the overall internal control environmentLead the external audit process end-to-end, including planning, coordination, and issue resolutionOversee budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with financial resultsReview variance analysis and partner with leadership to provide insights and support decision-makingSupport strategic initiatives, including financial modeling, business expansions, and operational decisionsOversee tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions and manage relationships with external tax advisorsOwn and improve accounting systems, tools, and workflows, driving efficiency and scalabilityLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvementQualifications for ControllerRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field8+ years of progressive accounting experience3+ years in a leadership role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar)Strong US GAAP and technical accounting expertiseExperience in a multi-entity environment with intercompany activityProven ownership of external audit processesExperience managing and developing teamsPreferredExperience in healthcare, pharmacy, telehealth, lab services, or other regulated environmentsCPA (active or inactive) and/or public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm)Exposure to multi-state tax, sales/use tax, or payroll taxExperience managing external tax advisorsFamiliarity with mid-market accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks and similar tools)#LI-MS4 #ZRCFS #INMAY2026 Controller Controller Controller Controller Controller
