Network Engineer

PURPOSE: To provide support in the operation, maintenance, and continuous modernization of all district technology systems (including workstations, iOs devices, and other school-based technology equipment) in order to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Glenview Public School District and promote a positive climate for the entire school community.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional InnovationLOCATION: School Buildings as AssignedResponsibilitiesLead on-site operation and maintenance support efforts for all school mobile, desktop, and supporting network technology, including the development of master images & operating processes for those resources that require the support.Monitor and respond quickly to requests submitted to the help-desk.Assist the network team leadership in assessing district technology needs and ongoing movement with best practice tools for educational technology.Work collaboratively with the school's Instructional Innovation Specialists, Coaches, and LRC directors as requestedProvide Network supportInstall new software and configure user accounts per guidelinesAdd / Move printers as necessary to provide user services.Add / Move access points as necessary to provide user services.Add / Move other technology as necessary to provide user services.Develop expert competencies in all district-level software. Provide timely recommendations on system upgrades. Develop procedures for integrating technology tools throughout district practice.Support periodic training sessions for staff.Perform system backups in coordination with the Network and Information Security Manager if needed.Remove, replace, and relocate equipment according to the District purchasing plan or as directed.Follow and educate staff in district data security policies.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsPreferred proficiency in the installation and configuration of MAC and iOs systemsPreferred proficiency in the installation, configuration, and support of device applicationsPreferred - BS/BA in computer science, an Associates Degree in a Technology or related field, or experience maintaining and configuring computer systemsKnowledge of Google Workspace is a plusTerms Of EmploymentFull-time (1.0 FTE), 8 hours per day.
