Database Administrator

Pay: $70.00 - $79.00 per hourSchedule: Monday- Friday, 1st shiftLocation: Hybrid, onsite 4 days plus as needed after initial trail period of two weeks fully onsite.Candidate will split the 4 days in the office between BOC, Midtown and Lake Kathy as they will be working with project teams at various locations (co-located teams).Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join a collaborative team of five DBAs and additional contract resources supporting an enterprise-wide database landscape. This role combines project-based work and operational support, with a strong emphasis on database architecture, cloud strategy, and cross-team collaboration.The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to contribute to strategic initiatives such as cloud migration and database modernization.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate as a core member of the DBA team supporting enterprise database environmentsCollaborate with project teams to design and recommend database architectures aligned with business requirements and IT standardsDevelop and maintain reference architectures for review and approval by IT and business stakeholdersContribute to the development and implementation of database cloud strategiesLead and support migration efforts from on-premises databases to cloud platforms where appropriateBuild new database systems or modify existing systems, producing required deliverablesDocument environment changes and ensure effective communication within the DBA teamSupport migration from local backup solutions to enterprise backup platforms (e.g., NetBackup)Work closely with internal developers, business users, integrators, and contract resourcesProvide mentorship and guidance to junior DBA team membersParticipate in on-call support rotationsRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong experience with:Microsoft SQL ServerOracle DatabaseSolid understanding of:Database architecture and design principlesHigh availability, disaster recovery, and replication strategiesETL processes and toolsData warehousing conceptsExperience with:Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS preferred)Database migrations (on-prem to cloud)Data Factory and/or SSISStrong documentation, communication, and critical thinking skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentProven experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsPostgreSQL experiencePowerShell scriptingInfrastructure as Code (IaC), including ARM templates or BicepExperience with Snowflake or modern data warehousing platformsExperience RequirementsApproximately 10 years of relevant database administration experienceSirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
