We're a venture-backed, high-growth startup transforming a $30B industry.Join us in creating world-class technology to help environmental professionals today and solve the planet's most important environmental issues tomorrow.Role DescriptionWe're hiring a Founding Environmental Consultant to own end-to-end delivery of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for our clients (environmental consulting firms).You'll set the bar on report quality, the post-sale owner of every client relationship, and the most important source of feedback that improves our AI. You'll work directly with the Founder/CEO and our engineering team to make every report we ship better than the last.This is a ground-floor opportunity to define the report delivery function at a venture-backed AI startup transforming environmental consulting. This role has a path to a C-suite role if there is mutual fit.Compensation & Benefits$85-100k base salary + performance bonuses + meaningful early-stage equityNYC-based, In-Person with WFH FridaysPaid time off + sick daysQualifications3+ years in environmental consulting, with hands-on experience producing Phase I ESAs and/or other environmental assessments.Based in NYC (or willing to relocate).Quality-obsessed - your naturally triple-check your work and treat your work like an artExceptional client-facing communication - comfortable being the senior voice on calls with leading environmental consulting firmsYou are the hardest working person you know - you find joy in taking on big challenges Ability to work independently and proactively drive priorities forwardComfortable with AI tools - you already use ChatGPT or Claude in your daily workflow, or are hungry to learn them deeplyNice to HaveBachelor's or higher in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, or related fieldExperience at a top-10 environmental consulting firm (ERM, AECOM, Ramboll, Tetra Tech, Stantec, Jacobs, Arcadis, WSP, Wood, Brown and Caldwell)Familiarity with state-level regulatory databases (NJDEP DataMiner, NYSDEC, etc.) and historical research sources (Sanborn, radius map reports, aerials, city directories, etc)Project management or team leadership experienceReal curiosity about how AI is changing professional servicesNotesStart date is ASAP (within 2 weeks ideal)Effort and attention to detail goes a long way at this stage.
