The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.The Luther Luckett Correctional Complex (LLCC) is seeking applicants for a Maintenance Branch Manager position to oversee maintenance duties on the grounds of the institution and determines work assignment to the maintenance staff and inmate workers assisting in maintenance responsibilities.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Provides supervision, administration and inspections of LLCC maintenance staff and inmate employees. Oversees general Maintenance practices of work performed. Supervises and determines work schedules on various maintenance jobs throughout the facility and grounds. Prioritizes and verifies completions of work orders. Requisition maintenance tools and supplies and needed. Supervises maintenance department staff in daily maintenance and repair tasks while maintaining a safe and secure working environment. Tracks assignment of tools and parts.Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: High school graduate.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Seven years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in industrial arts, horticulture, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, mechanical engineering, or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for- year basis.Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONEWorking ConditionsIncumbents in this job title may be required to use hand tools and lift items in excess of 20 pounds.Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.If you have questions about this advertisement, please contact Amy Ganschow at amy.ganschow@ky.gov .An Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D
