Survey Crew Chief
Survey Crew Chief Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Land Survey team in either our Plainville, CT or New London, CT office. This position is responsible for leading field survey crews and overseeing the execution of boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The Survey Crew Chief serves as the field lead, ensuring accurate data collection, proper equipment operation, and adherence to project requirements and safety standards.At Loureiro, you won't just work for the company, you'll own a part of it. As a 100% employee-owned company, our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) gives you a company-funded ownership stake that grows over time, so when we succeed, you share in the rewards.What You'll Do Lead and manage a survey crew performing boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveysOperate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stationsCollect field data, perform calculations, and maintain accurate field notes and recordsCoordinate with project teams, clients, and other staff to support project objectivesDirect, mentor, and develop crew members to support their growth within the surveying professionResearch deeds, easements, right-of-way documents, record maps, plans, and other survey recordsMaintain survey project files, field data records, and indexing systemsAssist with office survey functions and mapping compliance activities as neededEnsure work is performed safely and in accordance with company safety policies and proceduresPerform other related duties as assignedWho You Are A detail-oriented professional with a commitment to accuracy and qualityAn effective communicator who works well with clients and team membersA strong leader who enjoys mentoring and developing othersOrganized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a field environmentDedicated to maintaining safe work practicesA reliable team player with a strong work ethicWhat You Bring Minimum of 8 years of experience in boundary and construction surveyingAt least 5 years of experience managing a survey field crewHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredProficiency with GPS equipment, Robotic Total Stations, and Carlson/AutoCAD softwareKnowledge of professional surveying practices, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations affecting land surveying and boundariesStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPhysical Requirements Prolonged periods of walking, hiking, standing, and occasional sittingAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to use hands and fingers to operate survey equipment and toolsAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and terrainAdherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipmentWhy Loureiro?
