The ideal candidate takes pride in doing things the right way, communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, builds and maintains strong professional relationships, keeps excellent client and industry contacts, brings experience from similar project management and coordination roles, and wants to build a long-term career in construction materials testing, project management, and client service.Position SummaryThe CMT Project Manager will help manage construction materials testing projects across the Dallas area. This role includes coordinating field technicians, communicating with clients and contractors, reviewing project requirements, tracking schedules and deliverables, supporting documentation, and helping ensure that testing and inspection services are completed accurately, safely, and on time. This position is a hands-on project management role with significant growth potential. The right candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen technical knowledge, develop client relationships, support field operations, assist with systems development initiatives, and grow into greater leadership responsibility as Quartet Engineers Corporation expands its Dallas presence.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily coordination for Construction Materials Testing projects, including soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, structural steel, and related field or laboratory services. Serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, project teams, field technicians, laboratories, and internal leadership. Review project scopes, specifications, schedules, testing frequencies, and reporting requirements. Coordinate technician assignments and field testing needs based on project schedules and client requests. Track field reports, laboratory results, test data, inspection documentation, and project deliverables. Review reports and project documentation for completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery. Communicate schedule changes, site conditions, field issues, nonconformance items, and urgent project needs in a clear and professional manner. Support proposal preparation, project setup, scope review, fee tracking, and budget awareness as needed. Monitor project progress, open items, client expectations, and internal follow-up items. Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness, accountability, and practical problem-solving. Coordinate with engineers, technicians, laboratory staff, and operations leadership to keep projects moving efficiently. Reinforce safety expectations and professional conduct for field-related activities. Participate in workload planning, internal coordination meetings, project reviews, and process improvements. Support the growth and organization of the Dallas CMT operation. Assist in leading systems development initiatives focused on operational growth, recruiting pipeline development, workforce coordination, marketing support, and scalable project management processes across the organization. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have approximately 2–5 years of experience in construction materials testing, inspections, civil engineering, construction management, geotechnical services, or related field operations. This person should be ready to step into responsibility, learn quickly, and become a trusted part of the Dallas team. We are especially interested in someone who: Takes ownership and follows through without constant direction. Is dependable, punctual, professional, and responsive. Communicates clearly with clients, contractors, technicians, and leadership. Has strong relationship-building skills and maintains professional industry contacts. Brings experience from similar project management, coordination, or field operations roles. Can manage multiple projects, assignments, schedules, and priorities. Pays attention to details in reports, testing requirements, documentation, and project communication. Is comfortable working with active construction sites, field teams, and deadline-driven project needs. Has the initiative to identify issues early and help move them toward resolution. Brings a positive, practical, and team-first mindset. Wants to grow into a stronger project manager and future leader within the company.  Required Qualifications 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred, with minimum 2 years of relevant experience required. Experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or field operations. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, engineering technology, geology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent technical training, certifications, or hands-on CMT experience may also be considered. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to understand project requirements, construction specifications, testing standards, and field documentation. Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, reporting systems, project tracking tools, and standard business software. Valid driver’s license and ability to visit active construction sites as needed. Commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and client service.  Preferred Certifications The following certifications are preferred but not required: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician ICC certifications related to soils, concrete, masonry, structural steel, or special inspections TxDOT certifications related to construction materials testing NICET or other relevant construction, inspection, or materials testing certifications Nuclear gauge safety training or related field-testing credentials  What Success Looks Like Success in this role means clients are well-supported, technicians are properly coordinated, reports are delivered accurately and on time, and project issues are communicated early and professionally.
