Painter
Position OverviewThe Painter position is responsible for all aspects of painting both the interiors and exteriors of structures, buildings and other surfaces. This position will need to select the right materials for their job, as well as prepping the area for work. Attention to detail will be an important trait to ensure high-quality results.Key ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessaryMake on-site preparations, such as building scaffolding and covering fixturesPrepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint and taping off where required.Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materialMix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texturePaint surfaces according to instructions with various toolsApply varnish and other finishesAdhere to all health and safety regulationsOther projects and duties as assignedExperience and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required1+ years experience as a professional painterSolid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniquesConstruction, restoration or insurance industry experience preferredConscientious with great attention to detailEnglish language literacy & fluencyAbility to multitask in a fast-paced office environmentAbility to work under time constraints to meet specific obligationsPhysical RequirementsOccasional lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 0-15% of the time)Sitting for extended periods of timeManual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasksThe ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.DisclaimerThe statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.BELFOR Holdings is an Equal Opportunity Employer
