Job Opportunity: Vietnamese/Cantonese InterpreterBurbank, CA | Full-Time | Field + Program Office Based MDH Network partners with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, and forensic involvement to help them live meaningful, self-directed lives through person-centered planning. With more than 30 residential homes and multiple community-based programs across Southern California, we are in an active growth phase for our community-based programs and strengthening our operational infrastructure to meet increasing demand. We are seeking an experienced Vietnamese/Cantonese Interpreter to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. This role combines field-based interpretation (50%) and office-based follow-up support (50%) from our Program Office in Whittier. The Interpreter ensures accurate communication between English-challenged individuals, their families, and program staff during meetings, home visits, and ongoing service coordination. This position plays a critical role in supporting care documentation, person-centered planning, and Regional Center compliance. Field-Based Interpretation (Approx. 50%) Provide in-person interpretation (English ? Vietnamese/Cantonese) during: Intake meetings Care meetings Home visits Case management discussions Third party program assistance - on-site Interpret sensitive discussions regarding services, behavioral supports, and medical updates Maintain neutrality, accuracy, and confidentiality Program Office Responsibilities (Approx. 50%) Conduct follow-up calls to families regarding individual status and service updates Gather information for care documentation and case notes Assist with reading and explaining written correspondence in Chinese dialects Support program staff in ensuring accurate and complete documentation Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in the social services sector and/or professional interpretation experience in community, healthcare, or human services settings. Fluency in Vietnamese and/or Cantonese (spoken) required. Professional English proficiency. Ability to read Chinese dialects for correspondence support. Must have reliable transportation to travel to field assignments. Why This Role Matters Effective communication is essential to person-centered services. Compensation: Hourly rate of pay: $28.00 - $34.00 Final compensation will be based on experience, scope, and qualifications, in compliance with California pay transparency requirements.
