Job Description Job ID: 9343Date Posted: August 26, 2026The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician to assist in designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the structured cable systems in Logan, Utah. Join our team in our seventh decade of delivering mission success.Key Responsibilities:Performs the technical responsibilities of a Low Voltage Cable Installer and function as a member of a technical teamPerforms overhead and underground layout of pathways and rough inTerminates all types of copper cable including coaxial, multi-pair, and Cat 5e thru 6aAssembles and installs equipment racks and network cabinets with all associated componentsPerforms fiber optic cable installation and terminations of all typesPerforms structured cabling installations in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprintsa plusUnderstands and effectively explains every aspect of the structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross and inter-connections, and testingTroubleshoots, repairs, adjusts, and resolves problems in structured cabling systems and technical issuesPerforms other duties as neededFollows industry and company best practicesSafely uses ladders and bucket lifts as neededRequired Qualifications:High school graduateMinimum of 2 years’ experience installing low voltage cabling and fiber optic systemsUnderstanding and ability to implement structured cabling best practicesWilling to periodically perform system maintenance outside of core hoursAble to work independently and as part of a teamWorking knowledge of Fluke OTDR, DSX, and other testing toolsStrong work ethic, ability to focus on results, and demonstrated reliability in following through on commitments and assignmentsStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsUse of a computer running windows and software to include Visio, Bluebeam, PDF, Excel and WordWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Must be able to perform physical activities which require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving entire body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping, and handling of materialsMust be able to spend substantial time standingAbility to utilize visual acuity or reasonable accommodation and finger dexterity to work with small partsAble to lift up to 50 lbsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in access controls, CCTV, intercoms, and other low-voltage applicationsIndividuals possessing current BICSI certifications including INSTI, INSTC, INSTF, or TECHState of Utah Low Voltage certification/licenseUnderstanding of wireless 802.11 and DAS systemsSome networking knowledge is a plus, to include Cisco, Dell, JuniperWorking well under pressure (i.e. a critical system is down)Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactionsBICSI certified*Salary Range$42,000 - $65,000Salary commensurate based on education and experienceThis range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
