Manager, Software Engineering

Job Description: Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams while constantly setting and communicating team priorities that support the broader organization's goals Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your team(s) Evolve the technical roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency) Constantly review infrastructure metrics, SLA's, quality metrics to ensure the right technical investments in the platform and its capabilities to meet current and future goals while optimizing costs Work with Product Management to collaborate through creative brainstorming sessions and assist in writing requirements for technical debt Requirements: 2 years of experience in a technology leadership role Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering with hands-on coding Strong background in object oriented programming such as React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python Strong experience building Systems and API development Strong experience working with eventing technologies such as Kafka Strong experience with Databases such as Postgres passion to high-performance and high-throughput design Demonstrated improved growth and leadership of successful teams over time Successful in managing multiple concurrent work streams Benefits: remote-first environment unlimited paid time off 401(k) with employer match
