Mowing Crew Apprentice

Assist other crew members in the weekly mowing of properties to maintain turf areas. This is accomplished by:Mowing using commercial zero turn mowers, ride on, stand on, and walk behindTrimming of grass in areas where mowers are unable to fitTrimming of grass along concrete surfaces to keep grass uniform lookingRemoval of weeds that are growing in the cracks of parking lot and sidewalksBlowing off of concrete surfaces prior to leaving a propertyMaintaining of equipment by regular intervalsAssist in keeping truck and trailers organizedSnow removal in the winter, plus other duties around the shop to provide hours during the winter monthsOther duties as assignedReports to:Mow crew foremanThe work environment will consist of outdoor work in the seasonal elements:Moderate to high heatOccasional rainUse of equipment to complete jobs:Commercial mowersTrimmersBlowersHand toolsOccasional loud noises with equipment use:Hearing protection provided and requiredPresence of airborne debris:Eye protection provided and requiredRespiratory protection provided and requiredWorking Days and HoursMonday through FridaySaturdays as needed7am to 5pm *Later as needed due to weather and deadlines ***Will need to ensure that all weekly duties are completedQualificationsPrior experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance (PreferredPrevious experience with running commercial mowing equipmentValid drivers License (RequiredDetail orientedMotivated, self drivenExperience running heavy equipment (PreferredAbility to plan and coordinate along with team for efficient movement throughout dayCompensation$20+ per hour
