Maintain menu, ingredient, and preparation knowledge to confidently answer questions and provide tailored recommendationsUse suggestive selling and upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenueBe skilled in food and beverage pairingUnderstand common food allergies and dietary requirementsMonitor intoxication levels throughout restaurant and lounge and comply with all alcohol service regulationsServe as a liaison with front desk and restaurant managers for guests' needs and commentsComplete daily side-work, stocking lists, and cleaning dutiesKeep a neat, groomed, professional appearance as per The Allison guidelines; be in a proper, clean, well-maintained uniform at all timesMaintain sanitation and cleanliness per Jory and Oregon state health guidelinesFollow service guidelines through the complete meal serviceAny additional duties assigned by management In addition to the Server duties and responsibilities listed above, the Lead Server will be tasked with the following:Assist Managers and Maitre d' in training new hires and in the ongoing training of existing team membersCommunication to the Server Team of policy and system changes, menus and ingredient informationMonitor the service team's completion of sidework; ensure sidework lists are kept up to date and communicate with managers when changes are neededPerform restaurant opening and closing dutiesEnsures service team compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standardsCollaborates with management in team building and coaching of service team individualsBe present on the restaurant floor when guests are seatedEnforce regulations required to hold a valid Food Handlers CardEnforce regulations required to hold a valid OLCC permitThorough knowledge of emergency procedures Job Skills/Requirements/QualificationsThree years of restaurant service experience, including at least one year as a Server at The Allison Inn & SpaExpert level knowledge of food and beverage with familiarity with Willamette Valley wineAbility to effectively communicate with all team membersAbility to read, write, and communicate in EnglishAbility to follow both written and verbal instructionsAn enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest serviceMinimum availability of four (4) days per week to include weekends, evenings, and holidaysAbility to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidaysWillingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, holidays, and blackout daysSuccessfully pass a pre-employment background investigationMust have current Oregon Food Handlers permitMust have current OLCC permit, prior to first shiftAdhere to The Allison Inn & Spa grooming and appearance standards, or ability to adjust appearance accordingly Working conditions/Physical RequirementsStanding, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling for extended periods of time up to eight (8) hours per shiftAbility to reach shelves overhead, carry menus, supplies, and work at a quick pace.Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 25 pounds.Ability to effectively communicate with all team members by speaking clearly so listeners can understand, as well as understand the speech of another person.See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
