DescriptionAmazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.Key job responsibilities Integration and test of the LEO satellite and various complex subassemblies in a cleanroom and ESD controlled environment Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions Run functional and environmental testing on units Use computer software programs for conducting tests Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environmentAdditional Requirements Willing to work 4 / 10s as assigned: Estimated shift time: Sun-Wed 5pm-3:30am Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Shift will vary, depending on program needs. Applicants should apply via Amazon's internal or external careers site.A day in the lifeThe Integration Technician II will work closely with cross-functional engineering, test, quality and operations teams on both first-article hardware development and production hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas, including mechanical assembly, avionics integration, rigging, electrical checkouts and environmental testing. In short, you will be responsible for a majority of the most critical tasks to build the Leo satellite, ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.Basic Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches) 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawingsPreferred Qualifications Ability to work effectively in a team environment Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment Experience in a fast-paced production environment Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications) A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
