Manual Machinist
L&E Engineering is looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys solving unique machining challenges, and wants to continue developing their craft.This position also offers a great opportunity for someone earlier in their machining career. You’ll work closely with an experienced machinist who will help train, guide, and support your development as you build your skills in a hands-on environment.At L&E, no two jobs are exactly the same. You’ll be working on a variety of parts and materials, contributing to high-quality aerospace components in a shop that values accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.What You’ll DoSet up and operate manual lathes and millsPerform machining operations including turning, reaming, boring, facing, and threadingRead and follow blueprints and job routers to determine machining requirements (sequence, tooling, feeds, and speeds)Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specificationsFabricate and modify parts for tooling, repair, or production needsAssist in building gauges and product acceptance toolingWork with team members to complete jobs efficiently and accuratelyWhat We’re Looking ForExperience with manual machining (entry-level candidates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply)Ability to read blueprints and use basic measuring toolsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityWillingness to learn and take direction from experienced team membersGood attendance and reliabilityAbility to work independently and as part of a small teamHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPosition DemandsAbility to stand for extended periodsLift and/or move up to 25 poundsPerform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and liftingAbility to pass a vision screeningWillingness to work extended hours during peak workloadsScheduleMonday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PMOvertime may be required during the week and on Fridays (Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday 6:00 AM - 11:00 AM)Opportunities for increased pay with cross-training and annual reviewsWhy L & E Engineering?Stable, growing aerospace businessClean, climate-controlled environmentHands-on training and mentorship from experienced machinistCompetitive benefits package including 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidaysAnnual bonus possible linked to Company metricsEligibility RequirementsThis role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
