Job OverviewWe are in search of a highly skilled GCCS-J COP Database Administrator to become a vital part of our team, operating remotely from Ft. Liberty, NC. This critical role is essential for the support of mission-critical systems, ensuring that our database environments are fully optimized and functioning seamlessly.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a GCCS-J COP Database Administrator, your primary responsibilities will include:Formulating both short-term and long-term IT strategies that pinpoint specific technology solutions to align with mission objectives.Overseeing the Lifecycle Management Plan, employing agile methodologies for changes, releases, and new initiatives.Coordinating the implementation schedules and submitting Requests for Change in accordance with Change Management Policies.Executing user acceptance, performance, accessibility, security, and system testing.Preparing pre-deployment release documentation and release notes for updates.Defining and implementing release plans, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.Providing resource support for system performance and confirming IA compliance during hardware and software testing.Assessing and reporting on all network-related issues, ensuring that future solution implementations meet compatibility standards.Delivering technical support, including system diagrams, topologies, and documentation for both local and remote sites.Evaluating the impact of proposed changes on hardware, software, operations, and personnel, while providing a thorough trade-off analysis.Conducting bandwidth optimization, performance assessments, and market research to identify emerging technologies.Crafting test plans, performing QA planning, and testing all products prior to delivery.Supporting the migration and updates of applications from physical to virtual platforms based on specified requirements.Maintaining and monitoring database systems, providing service availability reports and updates on system performance and failures.Offering Tier 2 support, including VIP monitoring, problem resolution, and cyber vulnerability remediation.Assisting in the transition of services for emergency relocation sites and annually updating the COOP Plan.Planning and executing service transitions between data centers, ensuring system availability during COOP events.Managing changes to mission command workstations and application servers, ensuring synchronization with both local and remote users.Installing and upgrading hardware and software, testing patches and releases, and escalating unresolved issues to higher-level support teams.Providing support for external GCCS-J connections and troubleshooting any arising issues.Required SkillsTo be successful in this role, candidates should possess:In-depth experience with Agile Client and COP database products, including downloading imagery, overlays, and placemarks.A strong functional understanding of how commands utilize COP and requirements for receiving the Common Operational Picture from USSTRATCOM and NMCC.Proficiency in Red Hat, Linux, and Unix products as they pertain to GCCS-J software.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.QualificationsCandidates must meet the following criteria:A current Secret security clearance is required.Substantial experience in database administration and IT project management is essential.Career Growth OpportunitiesJoining our team offers you the chance to thrive in a dynamic and mission-oriented environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on critical defense systems.
