Title: Forklift OperatorLocation: Constantine, MI, 49042100% onsiteDuration: 06 months contractJob Purpose:This role supports warehouse operations for a leading agricultural company committed to helping farmers feed the world while protecting the planet. The Forklift Operator will work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment operating forklifts to move, lift, stack, and transport materials and products within the warehouse.The role may require certification and the use of technology such as PCs, scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to complete daily tasks accurately and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate forklifts to move, lift, stack, and transport materials, equipment, and productsPerform pre-use forklift inspections and ensure proper equipment maintenance and cleaningAccurately track and update inventory locations using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)Ensure precise data entry and system updates related to material handling activitiesSupport additional warehouse tasks as directed (e.g., sampling, inventory checks, cleaning)Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environmentLoad and unload transport vehicles during peak seasons (e.g., seed delivery and return cycles)Follow all safety procedures and initiate emergency protocols when requiredMaintain regulatory compliance and site operational standardsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong communication skills and ability to work respectfully in a team environmentSafety-first mindset with strong focus on quality and accuracyAbility to work in shift-based environmentsForklift driving experience (highly preferred)Warehouse experience (highly preferred)Prior forklift certification (preferred)Basic mechanical aptitude and awareness of machinery operations (helpful)Ability to work in confined spaces and around industrial equipmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy in counting inventoryAbility to read scales and perform basic measurementsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentHigh alertness and safe driving practices while operating equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand or sit for extended periodsRepetitive lifting and movement tasksAbility to lift up to 60 lbs (minimum requirement)Exposure to varying weather conditions (hot and cold environments)Frequent operation of forklifts in warehouse conditionsEquipment & Attire RequirementsProvided:Hi-Visibility hard hatSafety vestSafety eyewearGeneral purpose glovesWorker Provided:Steel-toe over-the-ankle work bootsDurable long pants (jeans preferred)Sleeved shirt (must cover shoulders; no loose clothing)
