Engineering and Maintenance Manager
The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading engineering and maintenance activities across a high-volume manufacturing facility that includes a primary production line and several satellite operational cells. This role drives capital investment strategy, ensures equipment reliability and uptime, and oversees a significant operating and capital budget. The Engineering Manager provides leadership to both engineering and maintenance teams while partnering cross-functionally to optimize production efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary technical team of engineering and maintenance staff, as well as key contractorsEstablish clear goals and performance expectations for team membersDetermine skill levels within the department and define training plan to bridge gapsFoster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementCollaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain leadershipCapital Planning & Project Execution (CAPEX)Develop and execute short- and long-term capital investment strategies aligned with business objectivesIdentify, justify, and prioritize capital projects to improve capacity, efficiency, and reliabilityOversee full lifecycle of capital projects (scoping, budgeting, procurement, installation, and commissioning)Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budgetEquipment Reliability & MaintenanceImplement and sustain reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and preventive/predictive maintenance programsDrive continuous improvement in equipment uptime, OEE, and maintenance cost efficiencyMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as neededLead root cause analysis for major equipment failures and drive permanent solutionsOperations Support (Production Line & Cells)Provide technical support to the Reynobond production line as well as Rework, Cut to Length and Finished Goods operational cellsWork cross-functionally to optimize throughput, reduce downtime, reduce costs, and improve product qualityIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement automation or system upgrades where appropriateBudget & Financial ManagementDevelop and manage a large operating and capital budgetTrack and control maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiativesIdentify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational excellenceCompliance, Safety, & StandardsEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsLead initiatives to improve workplace safety and reduce riskMaintain and enforce engineering and maintenance standards, procedures, and documentationQualificationsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of directly related professional experience in lieu of a degree5+ years of supervising and/or leadership experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing settingExperience managing large projects and budgetEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
