Research Program Coordinator

Research Program CoordinatorUnder general supervision, the Research Program Coordinator facilitates research-related activities for students and faculty conducting research. The Coordinator manages all research expenditures for students and faculty. The Coordinator serves as primary support for departmental research projects. The Coordinator serves as the Student Hire Representative for all research students. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with university faculty/staff administration, proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, proficiency with database creation and management, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge/skills/abilities include general knowledge of human subjects' protections/research regulatory processes, knowledge of administrative and business management principles, practices, and procedures, knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to administrative/business activities of the organization, knowledge of USCSOMG fiscal policies, practices, and procedures, ability to formulate and implement administrative policies and procedures, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the team, with faculty and administration, ability to communicate effectively, ability to work independently, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, good organization skills, time management and ability to prioritize tasks. Job duties include managing and overseeing programs and projects associated with Medical Student Research, serving as the Student Hire Representative and liaison for students being hired as Graduate Research Assistants, supporting and coordinating sponsored projects and research events for the school, maintaining appropriate compliance training for faculty, staff, and students involved in research, facilitating and fostering collaborative working relationships on research projects between clinicians, faculty, students and health partners, and presenting updates to numerous invested groups.
