Reconstruction Foreman

The Foreman-Carpentry is a supervisory position in the company with advanced skill and knowledge in the division trade. The Foreman-Carpentry must be able to perform duties while supervising a crew of 1 or more. Under general supervision of the Project Manager KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade specific and shared responsibilities. •Works and directs Carpenter I and Carpenter II•Ensures all tasks assigned to their crew members are appropriate to the crew members skill level •Have good communication and attitude with crew members •Goes over plans or project details •Unload/Load tools, set-up/down equipment at work site •Inspects and replaces damaged, rotting decayed, or chips framework or other structures and fixtures •Fabrication of custom wood projects; build out fence, deck, and gate etc .•Cuts, shapes and measures accurately ensuring materials meet state and local building codes •Use of hand tools, including squares, levels, and chisels •Use of power tools, such as sanders, circular saws and nail guns •Use of stationary woodworking equipment such as table saws, band saws, planers, spindle sanders, radial arm saws, etc •Sands and scrapes wood, preparing wood surfaces for finishing •Lifting and positioning of large sections of wood •Assists in some projects that may include plywood sheathing installation •Intermediate to advance mathematical skills •Ensures the job site is cleaned at the end of each day •Responsible for inventory and requesting supplies when needed •Operate tools and equipment including boom/scissor lift (with certification only) according to established safety procedures, ensures only certified employees are using Scaffolding/Scissor Lifts •Other duties as assigned ADDITONAL DUTIES •Receive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor used •Required to transport tools, supplies, materials to and from various sites and stores •Completes all project tasks within scheduled deadline while maintaining the standard quality ofwork •Ensures that crew members are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials needed for the tasks assigned •Identifies and/or eliminates waste and misuse of equipment, materials and tools •Utilizes all company issued property as directed and in line with current policies and procedures •Maintains expense documentation for the project such as receipts submitting all paperworkwithin the company due dates •Maintains employee on the job-related documents, submitting all paperwork within the companydue dates •Trains all new hires and completes evaluations every 30 days for the first 90 day •Ability to identify problem areas of any crew member and providing additional training whenapplicable •Follow and ensures established safety procedures and techniques are being utilized to performjob duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. •Reports any job accident immediately, following all reporting policies and procedures •Ensure crew members have water, shaded areas etc. as directed and in-line with Cal-Osha •Assists and serves as back up to other foreman, their crew and/or job sites EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS •5+ verifiable years in the trade, ability to supervise •Experience in Commercial/Residential HOA’s preferred •Boom lift training certificate or the ability to receive it •Must have reliable modes of transportation to and from job to various job sites •While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat/cold •Available various work shifts, extended hours and weekends as business requires •Wears uniform including work boots, protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipmentrequired by the work environment or governmental regulations •Ability to work in a standing position for extended hours •Comfortable with working on elevated surfaces, work with ladders and extension ladders •Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull up to 40 lbs.
