Technology Program Manager6-12 month contract with strong potential for extension and/or hireHybrid based in St. Louis, MOAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Technology Program Manager to help coordinate delivery across a growing Business Technology organization. This role will provide structure, visibility, and governance across multiple technology initiatives and teams, ensuring dependencies, risks, priorities, and delivery timelines are effectively managed.Reporting to a Director of Technology Delivery, the Technology Program Manager will serve as a key connector across technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a matrixed environment, and able to translate complex delivery information into clear, actionable business updates.Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Team Delivery CoordinationTrack dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers across multiple technology initiatives and workstreams.Maintain a portfolio-level roadmap and identify sequencing conflicts, resource constraints, and potential delivery impacts.Facilitate coordination across teams when initiatives have shared dependencies or competing priorities.Escalate significant delivery risks and blockers to appropriate technology and business leadership.Delivery Governance & ReportingTrack key delivery metrics and provide visibility into project and program health.Maintain appropriate documentation, decision records, approvals, and delivery artifacts.Establish consistent reporting practices across teams and initiatives.Help ensure technology delivery processes and governance standards are followed consistently.Executive & Stakeholder VisibilityBuild and maintain dashboards, status reports, and other portfolio-level reporting.Prepare materials and updates for leadership meetings and strategic reviews.Translate technical delivery information into clear, concise, business-focused communications.Provide leadership with visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and upcoming priorities.Process & Practice ImprovementPartner with Product Owners, Technical Analysts, Project Managers, and technical leads to improve delivery processes.Help establish and refine templates, workflows, prioritization practices, and delivery ceremonies.Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and transparency across technology initiatives.Support the continued development and maturity of the organization's technology delivery practice.QualificationsRequired4+ years of experience in technology project or program management.Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, workstreams, or initiatives.Strong understanding of traditional delivery metrics, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies.Familiarity with software and technology delivery metrics such as cycle time, deployment frequency, quality, and defect rates.Experience establishing or maintaining cross-team dependency, risk, and issue management processes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.PreferredExperience working with AI-assisted, automation, or emerging technology delivery practices.Interest in understanding how AI and automation may impact technology delivery, governance, risk, and quality.Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, field services, or another project-driven industry.Experience with project or portfolio management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.Experience supporting technology transformation, digital modernization, or enterprise technology initiatives.What Success Looks Like:First 90 DaysEstablish strong visibility into cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery priorities.Contribute to a consistent portfolio-level reporting cadence.Build effective relationships with technology leaders, delivery teams, and business stakeholders.Within 6 MonthsPortfolio reporting provides clear visibility into the status and health of key initiatives.Risks, dependencies, and delivery concerns are identified and escalated proactively.Teams are consistently using established delivery processes and reporting standards.Within 12 MonthsCross-team planning and sequencing becomes increasingly proactive and coordinated.Leadership has a reliable source of truth for technology portfolio status, risks, and priorities.The Technology Program Manager is recognized as a key connector across technology teams and business stakeholders.OngoingHelp strengthen the organization's technology delivery practice through effective governance, communication, process improvement, and portfolio visibility.
