Senior Full Stack Engineer
The Senior Full-Stack Developer builds and modernizes NASS mission applications using .NET Core, Blazor, and Azure PaaS services. This role develops secure, API-driven applications, supports legacy modernization efforts, and contributes reusable components to the Integrated Cloud Environment platform.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Develop modern applications using .NET Core, Blazor, Azure PaaS services, and other current technologies.
* Design and implement applications using an API-driven architecture, with front-end, back-end, and integration layers communicating through secure, versioned RESTful APIs.
* Implement responsive UI components aligned with NASS UI standards; build reusable components and templates to accelerate future development.
* Ensure application components are WAF-compatible, secure by design, and compliant with FIPS and NIST standards.
* Apply test-driven development (TDD) practices, including automated unit, integration, and contract tests for APIs.
* Use GitHub for source control, branching, code reviews, and automated builds; deploy through CI/CD pipelines to Azure App Services and Azure Container Registry.
* Reverse-engineer and refactor legacy Perl/PHP applications into modern, maintainable .NET Core and Blazor architectures while preserving mission-critical functionality.
* Migrate legacy APIs to secure, scalable RESTful APIs aligned with Integrated Cloud Environment platform standards.
* Support database modernization efforts by integrating application logic with modernized Azure SQL data models.
* Produce technical documentation, including API specifications, architecture diagrams, and developer onboarding materials.
* Support Integrated Cloud Environment platform enhancements and the onboarding of new NASS business applications.
* Provide application support, including troubleshooting, blocker resolution, and performance issue remediation for mission-critical workloads.
*Required Qualifications & Skills*
* Proven full-stack development experience with .NET Core and Blazor.
* Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in an API-first architecture.
* Familiarity with Azure App Services, Azure Container Registry, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
* Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing practices.
* Experience modernizing legacy applications (e.g., Perl, PHP) into current technology stacks preferred.
* Working knowledge of FIPS/NIST security standards and secure, WAF-compatible application design.
*Security & Eligibility Requirements*
* Must comply with HSPD-12 and FIPS PUB 201 personal identity verification (PIV) requirements for federal contractor personnel.
* Subject to a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or higher-level background investigation as designated for the position, and must be cleared prior to accessing sensitive NASS data.
* Required to sign a NASS confidentiality certification / non-disclosure agreement prior to accessing NASS systems, databases, or data files.
* Must complete annual USDA Information Security Awareness (ISA) and Rules of Behavior (ROB) training.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident ("green card" holder).
* Must obtain and display a government-issued identification badge while on USDA premises.
Pay: $118,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
